Steve Priske - Maritime Historian - Shipwright holding
model of Clipper Ship Western Shore scratch built based on discovered original ship yard blueprints hand drawn on onion skin
circa 1874.
“I would like to invite you, your family and friends to join us for an exciting evening exploring
the recently unearthed history of San Francisco’s largest fleet of west coat built tall ships circa 1850 - 1920.
In
this ‘Live Documentary’ you will see and hear about a huge fleet of 65 ‘blue water’ tall ships, all built on the west coast,
between 1859 and 1920.
Each presentation is fully narrated and runs a minimum one hour, with a question-answer follow
up.
This historical presentation is based on a recently unearthed collection of 1,500 Glass Plate Negatives, also known
as Daguerreotype photographs, most have never been published in Maritime History books.
Hundreds of these fully restored
glass plate photographs are being shown to the public for the first time in 130 years!
The Oregonian Newspaper in reporting
on this unprecedented historical discovery said: “It’s like finding another pyramid in the desert!”
